Planet Store Shopify Theme

We advise reading and familiarizing yourself with the Shopify Manual. It is an extremely well written and thorough guide to understanding the Shopify platform, written by Shopify themselves. It will help with understanding many aspects of the customization of your theme as well as using Shopify in general.

Please extract theme all file zip which you have downloaded from marketplace. After extracting you will find documentation and another zip file with the name of theme which you have just purchased. Lets upload this zip to shopify platform.

Step 1

From your Shopify admin, click Online Store, then click Themes (or press G W T):

Click Upload a theme in the top right-hand corner:

From the Upload A Theme dialog, click Choose File to select the .zip file that you want to upload.
Click Upload:

Step 4

The uploaded theme appears in the Unpublished themes section of your Themes page. You can install a maximum of 20 themes in your store. To publish the theme on your storefront immediately, click Publish theme. Your current published theme will become unpublished.

Set your customer account preferences

You can make customer accounts required or optional, or disable them altogether. Keep in mind that requiring customers to create accounts might decrease sales conversions.

To edit your customer account settings:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings, then click Checkout (or press G S C):
   
2. In the Customer accounts section, choose a customer account option:
   • Accounts are disabledCustomers won’t see the option to create an account or to login. They’ll have to manually enter their details at checkout, because fields won’t be pre-filled.
   • Accounts are optionalCustomers can choose to create an account but it’s not mandatory for checkout. If customers do have an account and they’re logged in, their address fields are pre-filled when they place an order.
   • Accounts are requiredCustomers must have an account and be logged in to place an order. This setting is useful if you’re running a wholesale or members-only store, for example. Address fields are pre-filled when the customer places an order.
   
3. Click Save changes to confirm your change to customer account settings.

Create a menu

To create a new menu:

1. From your Shopify admin, click Online Store, then click Navigation (or press G W N):
   
2. Select the Add menu button.
   
3. Give your navigation a title. A handle will automatically be generated from this title.
    
4. Add links to your menu.
5. Once you have added all of your links click Save.

From theme customizer you can customize theme. Every functionality which theme provides you can find it here in theme customizer. We are going to talk a lot about customizer so you must know how to access customizer page.

Step 1

Go to navigation and add some more menus. Please check above section to setup navigation.

Step 2

Go to customizer and find respective tab and open setting. For example if you want to setup preheader links go to header settings and under preheader you can find Link List option. Just select navigation you just created and save settings.

To add counter in deals section first of all create a collation and assign it a tag ‘deal’.

Now Add a new product and a tag ‘deal’

Please also add time stamp in following format at the bottom of you product description.

Sales sections is a simple collations. Go to customizer and add your list of collection which you want to show. Please add each collection separated by commas.

This theme support product variants.

Creating variants for a new product

To create variants while you’re adding a new product:

1. Click Add variants in your Add a product page.
2. Accept the default Option name (Size) or type a different option name into the field.
3. In the Option values field, enter each value followed by a comma.
4. Click Add another option if your variants differ in more than one way, for example, if the product is available in different colors as well as different sizes. You can have a maximum of three option names.
5. Now you can Modify the variants to be created. Look through the list of variants and uncheck the boxes next to any combinations that you don’t sell. You can also add prices, SKUs, and barcodes for individual variants at this stage.
6. Click Save.
