This theme requires following three plugins (One Click Demo Import is only required if you want to import demo content). Once theme is installed you will see a notice at the top of admin screen, that will allow you to install these plugins. Click on "Begin installing plugin" link and install the plugins.

This step involves following three steps, please make sure to follow these steps accordingly to correctly setup your theme.

  1. Theme Installation
  2. Theme Activations
  3. Install Required Plugins
  4. Import Demo Content (optional)

1. Theme Installation

Before beginning the installation and configuring of your theme, you must first have WordPress already installed on a server. Once you have setup a copy of WordPress, there are two ways you can go about installing the theme:

  1. Upload Via FTP. Using this method you can use an FTP client ( e.g. FileZilla ) to upload your theme into your WordPress themes directory /wp-content/themes/. To do this unzip the file you have downloaded from themeforest and unzip the trendy-pro.zip file. Now upload the trendy-pro folder into your WordPress themes directory /wp-content/themes/.
  2. Upload from WordPress Admin Panel. This is an easier method for most of WordPress users. Simply navigate to Appearance › Add New Themes › Upload. Click the browse button and locate the trendy-pro.zip theme folder from your PC. The theme will be uploaded and installed.

Please Note that the "Upload from WordPress Admin Panel" method requires a .zip file of your theme (i.e. trendy-pro.zip) to be uploaded.

2. Theme Activation

To activate your copy of theme log in to the admin panel of your WordPress and click on Appearence from the left side navigation. Here you can activate your theme. See example screenshot below.

3. Install Required Plugins

Once you have installed and activated your copy of Trendy Theme, you will see a warning message at the top of the screen like the example below. Click on "Begin installing plugin" link and install the plugins. After Installing and Activating required plugins you are good to go!

4. Import Demo Content

IMPORTANT! please make sure you have installed all required plugins (including Import Demo Content plugin).
This theme allows you to import demo contet with just one clik!.

To import demo content please follow the steps mentioned in the following screenshot.

How to import demo data?

Custom Pages #back to top

Home #1

This is the first page displayed to your site's visitors. You can adjust home page settings form Theme Options Panel.

Blog #2

Although home page displays post, but you can also create another blog page to display posts in chronological order.

Custom Page #3

Any page you create from Pages › Add New is a custom page. Layouts available for custom pages are #1. no sidebar #2 left sidebar #3. right sidebar.

Begin creating a new page by navigating to Pages › Add New. From here, simply give the page a title i.e. "Home", and click Publish. Add one more page that will be the blog, give it a page title.

Now that you have created the home and blog page, you must tell WordPress to use them appropriately. Head on over to Settings › Reading and toggle the "Front page displays" to "A static page". Choose the home page you just created as the "Front page", and the blog page you created as the "Posts page". Save your changes. Now your home page will correctly display as the front page of your website and the blog page will contain all of your posts.

How to Update Theme #back to top

You can update your theme by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new one. It is recommended that you use FTP, but this also can be done with the WP dashboard if you prefer. The reason FTP is superior for this is because the theme won't have to be deactivated during the process so you won't have to reassign your widgets. Also, remember to clear your browser cache after each update if you notice anything off. Old theme files can persist in your local cache and make you think something's wrong.

The options panel is home to all of the theme's extensive configuration options. To view the panel, navigate to the "Theme Options" link in the left-hand menu of your WordPress admin dashboard. Options panel gives you the ability to enable disable features instantly, choose your own typograpy styles, accent color , insert your own custom CSS styles, import/export your theme settings for backups and new installs and much more...
